The RISCY team is developing a chip clocking system.
The clock signal is like the heartbeat of a digital circuit. It sets the rhythm that allows all components to operate in sync.
Without a clock signal, circuits would be like an orchestra without a conductor—each component would operate at its own pace, and order would be disrupted. The clock signal synchronizes all processes, providing precise timing for operations such as reading, writing, adding, or transferring data.

The clocking system of our first RISCY-ONE chip is quite complex, since various blocks of the system-on-chip operate at different clock frequencies and require independent clock domains.
We have included two different implementations of the frequency control block in the test design. Once we receive the first chip samples, we will be able to evaluate their performance in actual silicon and select the solution that offers the best performance in terms of stability, power consumption, and performance.
